Discrepancy[edit]

The image of the album cover states Wendy Carlos but the article states it was released as Walter —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.210.62.10 (talk) 08:38, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

lets be clear here. the album was released when wendy was known as walter, and the article should mention that. later editions of course show the name change. I have a copy of the album which is credited to walter, so regardless of any timeline for name change, this album got in under the wire as Walter.(mercurywoodrose)99.35.51.50 (talk) 21:03, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's my understanding that Wendy has said that she prefers that she be referred to as "Wendy" not just now but for all time. In keeping with that, it would be best if "Wendy Carlos" were the only name used in this article to describe her. 2610:148:2002:4000:3248:5755:4741:36E (talk) 20:26, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Correcting Track Listing[edit]

If you look at http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_cIdKb8fftY0/SdAcz47SAfI/AAAAAAAACn0/f5KsIOo_oig/s1600-h/The+Well-Tempered+Synthesizer+liner+notes.jpg (or many other examples assessable through Google Image Search), you will see that the first track is "Stereo Test Tone :10" and that there is an announcement near the end: "Important: This record has critical stereo balance. For maximum enjoyment, please balance your speakers by using the test tones on Side 1, Band 1. You will hear four tones in the exact center, followed by Left, Right, Left, Right." _ am updating the page to reflect this. --Guy Macon (talk) 23:31, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
