Fair use rationale for Image:Theunvanquished.jpg[edit]

Image:Theunvanquished.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Pedantic point about the date[edit]

If it was first published as a novel in 1938, why is the date of the first edition given as 1940?92.23.114.67 (talk) 15:46, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is an error in the plot summary... the American Officer who gives the mules, negroes and silver to Granny does so because of an error. She has told her contact that her mules were called Old Hundred, and Tennie. The corporal writing up the order misunderstands her, and thinks she has reported the loss of 110 mules, and a like number of negroes, in addition to many chests of silver, and therefore turns over as many mules as he has, not quite the 110, but many, to her, which she gets back to her now-burned home by having the negroes ride them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.189.85.248 (talk) 22:41, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
