Comment[edit]

The publication date is incorrect. I gave my grandmother a copy of this book, circa 1975. She died in 1977, so the 1982 publication is clearly incorrect. Geo Swan (talk) 16:04, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Irrelevant phrase?[edit]

This sentence...

In April 1992 Geller sued the Prometheus Books in Miami, Florida for $4 million alleging libel made in two other books. This was thrown out in 1994 and the judge ordered Geller to pay $20,272.89 in legal fees.

Promethteus Books published the book in question, how about that for relevance? Also: First Geller sued Randi, then Prometheus and finally Randi AND Prometheus. Whole article needs revision[edit]

First point, the section about the cereal box suit should be deleted. It is both irrelevant and misleading. Irrelevant because it has NOTHING to do with the book. Misleading because it misrepresents the result. Only the suit against CSICOP was dismissed. The suit against Randi succeeded, with Randi making an undisclosed settlement. This is a pretty big discussion, and irrelevant to this particular page.

The part about suing Prometheus is totally back to front. It was Randi's book TTAUG that contained the offending phrases 'brought to court', etc. The statement about him being arrested was in the book Physics and Psychics from prometheus, citing Randi as a source. It was Paul Kurtz, not Randi who made a statement admitting he had misunderstood the words. Geller did not lose the case. He settled for a public apology, and a correction. Prometheus paid HIS legal fees.
