Feminist novel[edit]

I'm sorry, but this is so not the first feminist novel. In fact I feel that it fits best not into the feminist era, but into our post feminist times. Who is Arthur Huntingdon?[edit]

It has been written that Arthur Huntingdon bears many similarities to Mr. Rochester. But Mr.Rochester himself bears many similarities with - guess whom? - Heathcliff. Similarities and connections[edit]

Only The Professor, Agnes Grey and Wuthering Heights are unconnected Bronte's novels. There are some similarities between The Tenant and Wuthering Heights, but no one ever notice (just because Anne's novels are little known) that there is clear connection between Jane Eyre and Agnes Grey. English law[edit]

Certainly written by a classics student. It is stated in the first para that refusal of conjugal rights is against English law. English law has never permitted rape, not even for husbands. Incomplete editions of the novel![edit]

In all of the online editions (and some books) of The Tenant I've seen, The Prologue (not author's preface to the second edition, but the narrator's to his letter) and the chapter headings are omitted so the structure of the novel is considerably corrupted. I know the Oxford 2008 edition (which isbn is featured in this article) as being complete. And that at Wikisourse is not complete. 213.87.129.33 (talk) 00:19, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
