I've removed the link to Wikisource as it does not currently exist there. Brent Krajewski (talk) 20:44, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In this case the story was on wikisource under the name The Slithering Shadow, so I have corrected the wikisource template and put it back. - AdamBMorgan (talk) 08:59, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

assuage[edit]

"Thog has haunted the halls of Xuthal in search of living flesh to assuage the continuing manifestation of his body on the physical plane."

This is ambiguous as written. Is the intended meaning that he must obtain human flesh to maintain his presence on earth? If so, the word assuage is incorrect, as it means "to mitigate or lessen the negative effects of". Heavenlyblue (talk) 21:02, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Slithering Shadow versus Xuthal of the Dusk[edit]

Look the cover of Weird Tales: the original title was The Slithering Shadow NOT Xuthal of the Dusk. Please fix it in the wiki. Bogus plot[edit]

The stuff about Thalis escaping the monster's stomach and Conan tossing the monster's head down the well is boooogus. Why was this written? The entire monster fell into the well and this can be easily verified. "...as suddenly the heaving billowing mass fell away from beneath him, the saber tearing loose and remaining in his locked hand. This hand and arm hung down into space, and far below him the glowing body of the monster was rushing downward like a meteor. "
