robert romanus[edit]

"Fever"[edit]

I'm nonplussed by this ongoing reversion war between RossPatterson and everyone else over the version of the song used in the film. No one is questioning that Suzi Quatro recorded a cover of the song that was current during the events depicted in the film. However, that is not the version used in the film. In the scene where Cherie practices her audition in her bedroom, she

picks up the single of "Fever" recorded by Peggy Lee (the photo of Lee is visible on the jacket, as is her name)
mimes and dances to the version recorded by Peggy Lee, not the version by Suzi Quatro

When she arrives for her audition, Kim asks what she's going to sing. When the others express confusion over the title, she explains, "It's a Peggy Lee song." When someone complains "My mom listens to Peggy Lee," and others express their displeasure over the choice, Jett defends Currie by informing them that Suzi Quatro just released a cover of the song.

Please stop trying to enforce your faulty memory of the film on the article. At any rate, neither Lee nor Quatro actually wrote the thing. If the lot of you can't agree with the evidence on the screen, then just give the title of the song without any artist attribution. Two edits (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Runaways_(film)&diff=434136546&oldid=434100464 and http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Runaways_(film)&diff=440574722&oldid=440417209) a month apart, the last three months ago, do not a reversion war make. As I said in the comments, The soundtrack album isn't a reference for whose version she learned, and Quatro's was current at the time. If you find a reference, feel free to revert. and Just as last time I undid this: "Quatro's [version] was current at the time. If you find a reference, feel free to revert." ... and cite it, of course.). So, next time someone changes the article, just add a proper citation to a non-Wikipedia source, and there won't be any problem. RossPatterson (talk) 13:53, 30 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
