I took out a few lines, such as "Their legacy will last a lunchtime" and "notably Montreal's Kingpins, who were tons better than the Planet Smashers, although the Planet Smashers had way more underage groupies which is why some of the the willy's fell off of the original band members forcing the group into a re-tooling period.", for NPOV issues. The Planet Smashers actually have a new drummer: Fred Burton. I know this because he use to be my drum teacher, and they have pictures of him on the official site.Tokechan 04:32, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Heh oops, sorry about that, it's actually Brenton. He wrote his name messily on my exercise book, and I actually thought his last name was Burton the whole time I had lessons with him.Tokechan 03:13, 15 May 2008

"Ska punk" to "third-wave ska"[edit]

I suggest we specify 'third-wave ska' instead of 'ska punk'. Believe it or not, there's actually a major difference between the two, primarily the "punk" part: the use of distorted guitars. The Smashers seem to use considerably less distortion/pop-punk influence than contemporaries Reel Big Fish or Less Than Jake, and seem to be more on par musically with bands like The Toasters or Bim Skala Bim. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.27.142.135 (talk) 01:18, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
