Episodes shown first in Australia[edit]

I like to make known that episodes 6-8 so far has been shown first in Australia on Syfy on August 14. 21 and 28 respectively. 122.106.83.10 (talk) 17:11, 31 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Season 3 renewal?[edit]

Note that this is reporting that the series has been renewed for a third season.

However, no one else is reporting this yet, so I am holding off adding it to the article until another WP:RS confirms it... --IJBall (contribstalk) 12:13, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

TVseriesfinale are reporting on it and are quoting people like Dean Devlin and several cast members on Twitter all saying that Season 3 is a thing. See [1]. The ratings were solid all Summer so its not surprising. Esuka (talk) 22:40, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
TVseriesfinale is WP:NOTRS, so we need something better – I think we need Deadline or TVLine to report this before we can add it. --IJBall (contribstalk) 23:34, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I agree we should wait until generally reliable sources such as Deadline, TVLine, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, or other generally reliable sources to report the confirmation of the third season renewal. — YoungForever(talk) 01:44, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
What about Variety? It doesn't mention the renewal in the headline but its in the second paragraph where it says "The channel will have episodes of “The Outpost,” the fantasy-adventure series that has just had its third season greenlit by U.S. network The CW", see here [2]. The article talks about how the series producer Electric Entertainment are producing their own linear OTT channel. Esuka (talk) 11:16, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that Variety article can be used for this (though I'd probably quote the line in question in the reference). --IJBall (contribstalk) 12:24, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"Season 3.5" vs. "Season 4"[edit]

People need to stop trying to jump the gun on this – just wait until The CW confirms this as "the second half of season 3" or "season 4". WP:NOHURRY absolutely applies here – let's just wait for official word, OK? In the meantime, Deadline originally reported it as "season 4", and then walked it back within less than 24 hours – for now, sticking with that is fine. --IJBall (contribstalk) 02:25, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The following press release – [3] – points more in the direction that The CW does consider the Summer 2021 episodes as "season #3.5" and not "season #4". But this still isn't enough to say anything definitive at the article. We really are going to need to see more from The CW here before we can make this determination. --IJBall (contribstalk) 21:40, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dean Devlin, CEO of Electric Entertainment (who actually make it) is calling it Season 4. [4] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.144.138.107 (talk) 19:51, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There is no reason not to wait to see what The CW calls it. --IJBall (contribstalk) 21:15, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The digital guide on my TV lists the first episode of this new set as "Season 4, Episode 1", not "Season 3, Episode 14". So obviously, the people at the cable companies at least seem to have been led to the conclusion that it's a new season. User talk:JonStein89 — Preceding undated comment added 19:36, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

We need some sort of press release from The CW calling it "season #4". The Deadline cite says "13 additional episodes of season #3", and The Futon Critic is (so far) not talking about a "season #4". So we need a WP:RS, esp. one from The CW, calling it "season #4". --IJBall (contribstalk) 20:19, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

CWTV (www.cwtv.com/shows/the-outpost) lists it as Ep.401

TVMaze also lists it as Season 4 : https://www.tvmaze.com/episodes/2087860/the-outpost-4x01-someone-has-to-rule — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.10.213.29 (talk) 03:41, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

TVMaze is not a reliable source. The official CW website is a reliable source. — YoungForever(talk) 03:47, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, cwtv.com is "official". But on this, I think would should wait – while cwtv.com lists the episode as "401", it still has "Episodes (13) Season 3" – I would like to see if that changes to "Season 4" up at the top after 07/16/2021 before we reflect that here. --IJBall (contribstalk) 04:10, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@IJBall: It is now listing as "Episodes (1) Season 4", can we fix the article now????? Xeditboy (talk) 05:24, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that is probably definitive enough. I still would prefer a reliable secondary source (e.g. something like Deadline Hollywood or TVLine) referring to these episodes as "season #4", but the CW website is good enough to justify changing it. --IJBall (contribstalk) 05:28, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just to add, IMDB lists them as Season 4 : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7612548/episodes?season=4 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.10.213.29 (talk) 21:35, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
IMDb is not a reliable source. — YoungForever(talk) 22:24, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Amazon Prime also listed as Season 4 The Outpost - Season 4. — YoungForever(talk) 22:28, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That's not a secondary source. At this point, I think it should be changed. But I still would rather see a source from someone like Deadline or TVLine or Entertainment Weekly calling it "season 4". That would "clinch" it. --IJBall (contribstalk) 01:37, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't seemed like Deadline or TVLine or Entertainment Weekly have anything calling the aired episode as part of season 4. The CW official website, Amazon Prime, and Zap2it TV listing are the only ones called the new aired episode as part of season 4 as of right now. I do think The CW official website is sufficient enough to called it as season 4. After all, it is network's official website for the TV series. — YoungForever(talk) 01:59, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
There also an official Twitter post from The Outpost Twitter account calling it as "Season 4 Premiere".[1]YoungForever(talk) 04:54, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
