Reviewer: Hi, I’m Artichoke-Boy, and I’ll be reviewing this article for GA status. This is my second GA nomination review (the first being here). I will be reviewing each section of this article individually, with a recap at the bottom. I’ll respond to any questions/comments as soon as I can.


Infobox

  • Perhaps a citation should be made for the information on Brigid Pearson being the cover designer?
  • Is the ISBN number correct?


Introductory paragraphs

  • The third sentence here reads "Wilson is also the author of Everything I Know I Learned at the Movies: A Compilation of Clichés and Un-Truisms Gleaned From a Lifetime Spent Entirely Too Much in the Dark." I’m not sure this is necessary to be included in the intro. It shares almost no relation to the previous information about this Razzies book, and is already mentioned in the infobox.
  • "Wilson comments on and discusses his picks for worst films" sounds better as "Wilson comments on and discusses his picks for the worst films of all time."
  • "The book also received positive reception in Wilmington Star-News the Associated Press and the Long Beach Press-Telegram, and a more critical review in The Evening Standard" should be changed to "The book also received positive reception in Wilmington Star-News, the Associated Press, and the Long Beach Press-Telegram, but a more critical review in The Evening Standard."
  • I think that "The book was marketed alongside the 25th Golden Raspberry Awards, and nominations for the awards ceremony were announced by Wilson at a book signing for the work" should be omitted from the intro. This is stated in the Marketing section, and just seems repetitive here.

  • "The book begins with selected quotes by critics from reviews of films The Blue Lagoon, From Justin to Kelly, and Color of Night" sounds much better as "The book begins with selected quotes from the reviewers of such films as The Blue Lagoon, From Justin to Kelly, and Color of Night."
  • "The book includes a brief history of the Golden Raspberry Awards" should be "The book also includes a brief history of the Golden Raspberry Awards." (transitions better)
  • "Chapters are organized thematically, with titles such as 'Disasters ... In Every Sense.' and 'Can't Stop the Musicals'." should be written as "The chapters all deal with bad movies, and are organized thematically with titles such as 'Disasters ... In Every Sense' and 'Can't Stop the Musicals.'"


Marketing

  • "Pat Nason of United Press International (UPI) wrote that marketing of the book 'may have been somewhat complicated by the cover art'. The book's cover shows an actor in a gorilla costume with his middle finger raised." would sound better as "Pat Nason of United Press International (UPI) wrote that the marketing of the book 'may have been somewhat complicated by the cover art,' which shows an actor in a gorilla costume with his middle finger raised." Also, "middle finger raised" should be linked to Finger (gesture).
  • "Wilson announced the nominees for the 25th Golden Raspberry Awards, at a book signing for The Official Razzie Movie Guide at Brentano's in Century City, Los Angeles, California" shouldn’t have a comma after "25th Golden Raspberry Awards."


Recpetion

  • I think something like "The Official Razzie Movie Guide received generally admirable reviews from critics" should be included at the beginning of this section, as a sort of introductory overview.
  • "Catherine Shoard of The Evening Standard described The Official Razzie Movie Guide as 'a companion book to the annual Golden Raspberry awards'. Shoard commented 'It's a shame elderly duds get more space than recent winners, and Wilson's style, though amusing, is never really more than descriptive. Still, that's all some films require ...'" should be replaced with "Catherine Shoard of The Evening Standard took a less enthusiastic approach to the book, however, describing it as 'a companion book to the annual Golden Raspberry awards,' and saying that 'it's a shame elderly duds get more space than recent winners, and Wilson's style, though amusing, is never really more than descriptive. Still, that's all some films require ...'"

Virtually all of my criticisms here have to deal with rewording and grammatical-related issues, and everything else seems to be fine. All major information and quotations are backed up by good citations, it contains no original research, it has a constant neutral point of view, and is broad in its coverage (with good quotations) without getting too long and drawn-out.

I’m going to wait for a second opinion before making the decision as to whether this article should be passed or not.
