The tribe's language, and other questions[edit]

Does anyone recognise the language the tribesmen speak? I have put "Afrikaans" followed by a questionmark but this is only a guess -it actually sounds almost like French sometimes.

Also, is this an identifiable tribe, or just an invention of the screenwriters? Same question applies to the modes of execution depicted, including the "lion's chance" that Wilde is given.

Wilde's Child Companion[edit]

In case anyone else is confused about this, the child Wilde's character meets is a little girl, not a boy. Per imdb, she is credited as "little girl" and played by Bella Randels; also, she cooks for him like a little housewife.

It is an understandable mistake, since the girl is prepubescent and wears a sort of loincloth. Jgreenbook 22:01, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can understand why some folks are confused: the young girl is referred to as a boy in the closed captions on, at least, the Netflix version I just finished watching with my son. ( I had not seen it since I went to a movie theater with my cousins during a trip to Barranquilla, Colombia in 1974. I remembered much of it, but, not surprisingly, the post prandial scene with the snake definitely stuck in my mind. :-) I know there are many actors who have only been in a single film, I do wish she had done more. She was charming. Alas, I have found no information on her other than her name. Dhugot (talk) 02:55, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
