"... any universal language"[edit]

Rose's gift is described as the ability to understand and speak "any universal language." I think you'd be better off saying "any language," because there are no universal languages. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_language for what the term actually means. AmigoNico (talk) 07:38, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I made that change, several minutes ago, before I ever saw this page. The point is absolutely correct, basic and obvious. (If I recall correctly, the word "universal" was used by Rose, claiming to have the "gift of universal understanding". Something like that. First or second episode, whenever it is that she brings the Messengers together to explain the situation.) 134.48.160.183 (talk) 10:18, 22 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Editing the English for more natural tone and common vernacular usage; also information editing.[edit]

First, Cheers and thanks to the principal author(s) for providing this article and summarizing information about the show! (It's not the greatest TV, but I must say I was sucked in to the basic story elements and premises of the show -- I watched the 12 episodes and want to see where the story goes. I hope the 13th episode was created to wrap everything up at least reasonably, since the show has been cancelled. If it gets a miraculous resurrection of its own, I'll watch.) Overall, I praise them for doing this work for us. Now...

The article is written in a way that occasionally seems as if it is written by an author for whom English is not the primary language. Within that, the English usage is largely very good, but there are many places where small adjustments can be made to improve the readability, clarity, and tone of the article. I have just made several corrections and other edits, as I came across them while reading simply for my own pleasure and interest. I won't be following this page, and didn't read it completely; thus, I won't be reviewing or editing much of it. But there is probably more work to be done. It would be good for future readers if someone who has just watched the show, who also has good native English skills (spelling, proper grammar, a good sense for natural English sound and word usage and phrasing), picks up the editing and clean-up of the article. Again, it isn't a lot, and I didn't see anything too egregious -- just room to make it even better, fixing odd phrases and word choice, fixing grammar in a few places, and so on.

Information Correction: The "universal language" phrasing mentioned above, I already fixed, before looking at this talk page. I fixed the side-effect mentioned for the spirit-walker's power; it isn't temporary, really; she just has STRONG motivation to return to her body in a fairly short time, since if she chooses to use it longer than that, she'll die; but she *could* do that, I'm guessing. The listings for the Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse weren't entirely consistent. One (or two?) named the sin which would break the seal that turned a person into one of the Horsemen, but not all of them. If that's a set of spoilers that should not be included, then all should be removed. If they're okay to mention, they should be included for all of them. I think that the sin committed by each one to trigger their transformation is a pretty basic and defining thing in each case, so it seems legitimate to include that information in the article; but, I'm not involved enough with Wikipedia to know that standard or look it up. I'll just leave it to someone(s) else to decide and act on. I did some editing, but didn't add Death's sin, since I can't recall *exactly* what it was and don't want to go back to check right now :) .

So again, someone else familiar with the show might want to check over -- well, the whole page -- for fact-checking purposes, and see what needs correction, what needs filling-in, and so on.

By no means is any of this criticism or showing disapproval; I'm just wanting to help along the page's progress. Again, Cheers! 134.48.160.183 (talk) 10:18, 22 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
