Untitled[edit]

There is little or nothing about the novel itself here and that is what an article about the novel should contain. It needs a good lead paragraph summarising the notabliity and success of the novel. Then it needs ==Plot summary==, ==Characters in "~title of novel~"==, ==Literary significance & criticism==, ==Release details==, ==Footnotes== and sources sections as a minimum. "In the beat writer tradition"?[edit]

What exactly does that mean (to be found in the opening paragraph)? Shouldn't there be at least a link / reference to some other article? <K F> 00:12, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In the new Modern Classics Penguin edition of 2006, Selvon is referred to as the "father of black writing" in Britain. He has influenced generations of writers such as Caryl Phillips, and his influence has not waned to the present. The Lonely Londoners is his most famous novel. This is why I think the "low importance" rating is wrong. <K F> 10:46, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
