First detective novel with a female investigator?[edit]

Isn't it also a rather early one for amateur sleuths? Dimadick (talk) 14:54, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

1860’s were full of female detective stories - true and fiction. This is unusual in that the thing is written in the first person (mostly) from a female point of view by a male author. Done before, and since, but not that often. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C7:E287:E001:74E3:39E6:7C7:74E0 (talk) 12:11, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
