Plot Summary[edit]

So I hope I didn't overdo this. Any comments welcome. I personally won't start reading plot summaries that are too long but it's surprisingly easy to rack up a large word count myself. Dontreadalone (talk) 03:26, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Doctor Who - The Waters of Mars[edit]

Is it worth noting that the plot of this film bears more than a passing resemblance to the Doctor Who 2009 special The Waters of Mars?

Please read WP:OR. Murry1975 (talk) 14:41, 1 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The plot is exceptionally derivative and probably bears more than a passing resemblance to a lot of things. Dontreadalone (talk) 04:27, 8 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A couple of things…[edit]

What makes the Mars base a “professional” one? I wonder if “commercial” was what was meant (as the distinction between a professional and an amateur space-mission doesn’t seem really applicable)? However, even this wouldn’t seem to be right, as it appears to be an international Governmental affair, with the buggies having country flags of several nations on their livery, and the suit helmest being marke “I.S.C. - Internation Space Comission”. And did filming “mainly” take place in Jordan? The vast majority of the film is set in interiors, and these would more likely have been done at Elstree in England (which is also credited as a filming location) - perhaps it was the bulk of the exterior shots that were done in Jordan? I agree with your comments. "professional" was added by an IP editor around a year ago. I didn't notice it. I agree that it's a bit odd-sounding. I guess we can remove that. Variety made an offhand comment about how filming took place in Jordan. There seems to be a bit more information out there, and I suppose it wouldn't be too difficult to add more detail. I just did a Google search, and I came up with a few hits. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 14:24, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

15 minutes[edit]

The final sentence in the Plot section begins, "Campbell concludes that he will wait fifteen minutes for them to decide, [...]". He did not say that he would wait 15 minutes, but rather that they, Mission Control, should be receiving his message in 15 minutes (which is around the average time it takes for a radio signal to reach Earth from Mars). The last sentence in the Plot section should be corrected. — al-Shimoni (talk) 19:54, 19 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

His last words before signing off were "I guess I'll be waiting" but it doesn't say it was for their reply or instructions. Danchall (talk) 03:34, 6 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in The Last Days on Mars[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of The Last Days on Mars's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 06:44, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
