"non notable student newspaper; student newspapers, unless particularly notable, should be covered in the university article. --Brianyoumans 02:05, 27 October 2006 (UTC)"

So why delete instead of just merging it? Rob Russell 15:43, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Because there was almost no content to be merged? I have added the information that The Lance is weekly to the main article, and added a link to their website. --Brianyoumans 05:20, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Conversely, the inclusion standard for print publications is a circulation of 5,000 copies. I don't see the value in determining these things by criteria as vague and subjective as "particularly notable". I believe that student newspapers should be held to the same standard as their non-student counterparts: if they meet the circulation figure, they're in; if they don't, they're out. It's so much less open to interpretation that way. But YMMV, I guess. Bearcat 18:53, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
