I wrote the real votes of the Top Ten Greatest Indians in this article. Sequence was also wrong but I cleared that sequence. Sandesh Hiwale (talk) 13:25, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in The Greatest Indian[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of The Greatest Indian's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Factual title[edit]

The official survey objective is to find 'Greatest Indian after Gandhi'. So, it has reference to Gandhi. Therefore based on facts & references the title may be changed accordingly.

@सुबोध कुलकर्णी: Hi. See WP:COMMONNAME. We do not chose article titles based on whether they are factual or not, but based on what they are commonly called in reliable sources. Looking at the cited references in this article, sources just refer to the poll as "The Greatest Indian" poll, not "The Greatest Indian after Ghandhi". The lede of this article also already makes it clear to readers that Ghandi was not included in the poll. Bennv3771 (talk) 03:01, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Protect article[edit]

This article should be protected, because on this constantly new names are added. @Bennv3771: please help. Vijay bramhane (talk) 05:58, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Vijay bramhane: Hi. I’m not an admin so I can’t protect the page. You can make a page protection request here: WP:RFPP. Just so you are aware, I did make a request for this article to be protected a few weeks ago but it was declined. Bennv3771 (talk) 06:03, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Removed descriptions[edit]

Hello @Diannaa:, you have been misunderstood. I did not copy the text from Jagranjosh's news. Jagranjosh's news' description has only text, no references. But there are many references added in the description I have added. And I have taken this text from the article "Bharat Ratna", and Jagaranjosh has also copied and pasted the text from this article. So please restore the deleted text, because their description is important with 10 greatest Indians. Please cooperate properly. 2409:4042:2195:40E2:0:0:153B:D8A5 (talk) 08:21, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the mistake. One way you can help prevent this type of error on my part in the future is to leave an informative edit summary. In fact to do so is required by the terms of our license when copying within Wikipedia. Thanks.— Diannaa (talk) 12:06, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
