It would be very helpful to list the tracklists of each release, where and when it was released, etc.

Fair use rationale for Image:ThomasDolbyTheGoldenAgeOfWireless.jpg[edit]

Image:ThomasDolbyTheGoldenAgeOfWireless.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

1982 CD[edit]

The article refers to a "1982 US CD release". Where did this date come from? It seems unlikely, given that CD players couldn't be purchased in the US prior to 1983. —mjb (talk) 05:26, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've gone ahead and updated it to 1984, which is the latest it would've been issued, because it's listed in the Digital Audio magazine Sep. 1984 issue as being available. Possibly it was 1983, but I would rather go with something verifiable. —mjb (talk) 23:09, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

US CD release[edit]

There are two versions of the US CD release. At some point after the initial release (year unknown), Capitol began using a different master for its US CD pressings, though the packaging and printing on the disc is identical to the earlier version. The only way to tell the difference is to look at the code numbers on the inner ring of the disc. As an example, my original US CD has "2-1-1 CAPITOL JAX 7C" AND "AR @ 2" on its inner ring, and the second edition has "1-1-4 CAPITOL JAX 17C" AND "59A26H" on its inner ring. I suspect there are other variations.

The contents of the 2nd US CD are as follows (versions different from the first issue a marked with a *):

Revert vandalism[edit]


  • What I think should be changed: References to Donald Fagen should be changed to Thomas Dolby.
  • Why it should be changed: In an effort to clean up vandalism I had changed the incorrect Fagen references back to Dolby, however it seems my change (coming from an IP) was itself interpreted as vandalism, reverted back to a vandalized version, and now the page is protected.
  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button): Almost all of them.
