Nostalgia Critic[edit]

It seems that many editors have used the Nostalgia Critic as a legitimate reviewer on this page. I would like to clarify that the Nostalgia Critic is not real. He is one of the many characters played by Doug Walker, an actor, not a critic. He may have opinions, but Walker's profession is as an entertainer, not a critic.

Therefore, please do not use The Nostalgia Critic's opinion as a reference when it comes to film/TV/video game criticism on this page, or any page on Wikipedia from now on. Even if he considers it the worst movie ever made. That is all. Freshh (talk) 14:44, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

But... it is Doug himself (not his character) who considers it the worst film he has ever seen. True he is not a professsional critic, but are critics' opinions the only ones worth having? For example, if some of the people involved in this film (if their careers somehow survived) subsequently expressed shame or embarassment at this film, or considered it the worst film of all time, wouldn't their opinions be worth something? In fact, isn't the fact that Doug considers it the WOAT part of its claim to fame? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.30.133.31 (talk) 21:27, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It was on the "In popular culture" section until recently. I think that if a reference to Walker's claims belong on this page, it fits much better there instead of the "Reception" section. Freshh (talk) 15:17, 26 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with "Freshh." Look at other movies and you'll see that any criticism comes from PROFESSIONAL critics, those involved with the film, or agragate places (i.e., Rotten Tomatoes).

David Walker is NONE of those ! ! ! As such, his PERSONAL opinion(s) have NO PLACE in this article. If his are allowed, then ANYBODY'S should also be allowed - - - and I've read other "Talk" areas where individuals are either taken to task for that reason or their edit(s) have been removed BECAUSE they are personal opinions. 2600:8800:786:A300:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 04:24, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Bomb[edit]

"It was a box-office bomb, earning just over $1.6 million on a $1 million budget." - that needs context (e.g. promo costs etc), because on face value that's a profit, if a minor one. Bomb is a well-overused term too. 2A02:C7D:6455:6600:246D:25BB:E84F:9DB1 (talk) 18:08, 30 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
