Mary or angel[edit]
The sources say the second figure is either an angel or a young girl, but to me she looks pretty pregnant. My take on it would be that its Mary looking at him as he sleeps, which would be a logical creative subject matter for portraying a dreaming Joseph. Any reputable sources with that viewpoint?
