Page hijack[edit]

Ah, Fabdiplomat, that's not how things work. You can't just delete the original contents of the page and rewrite it as your own band's page. Very uncool, poor netiquette and totally against the rules.

The right way to do this is to use a disambiguation page. I'm going to restore this to the original edit and work on a Wikipedia:disambiguation page later. Hit my talk page if you want to discuss or email me at username@gmail. Sholto.mac 01:15, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fabdiplomat - I created this disambiguation page [[1]] and a new page called The Diplomat band, shifted your content there but it was deleted by Wiki admin because there was nothing noteworthy about the band in the description. I'm going to leave the disambiguation page there for you, and you can re-create a page for your band again. However, the Wiki admins will delete the page again if there is nothing noteworthy about the band. Sholto.mac 01:53, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

It doesn't have a single link other than it's own....I think it is an advertisement more than a non-notable problem Imasomething (talk) 17:28, 3 February 2011 (UTC

Time magazine[edit]

Someone deleted the Time magazine paragraph. I feel that if this information was notable enough for inclusion in a major Australian newspaper then it is notable enough for inclusion in this article. Is there a counterargument? Blue Rasberry 02:06, 25 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be in the article. SilverserenC 02:09, 25 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted the Time magazine reference as I thought it put way too much emphasis on that one incident in relation to the size and info content of the article as a whole. But, with more fleshing out of the article itself, I have no problem with its reinsertion. Though the wording could be made more clear over what exactly the issue was about.Bnio (talk) 17:23, 25 February 2011 (UTC)Bnio[reply]

Citation needed on contributors list[edit]

I need some help knowing how to cite the list of contributors to the magazine. A run through The Diplomat's site will pull up all the names listed and numerous articles by each, but nowhere on the site is there a comprehensive list I could reference. Bnio (talk) 17:26, 25 February 2011 (UTC)Bnio[reply]

It might not be possible to reference the list. Some magazines may have lists of contributors, or it could be that someone somewhere has written a review of the magazine and named some or all of the regular correspondents. It would not be appropriate to just give examples of written articles as a reference. It is also okay to do nothing at all at present, if no reference exists. I do not dispute the accuracy of the list and I feel that the information does belong in the article. Blue Rasberry (talk) 18:50, 25 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reads like a promotional piece[edit]

The entire page is essentially an advert for the magazine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.250.185.20 (talk) 07:29, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

(non-admin closure)

The DiplomatThe Diplomat (magazine) – The online magazine is not the primary topic of the same name. There are others, like The Diplomat (novel). The current title must redirect to Diplomat (disambiguation). George Ho (talk) 00:41, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • There's only one other article, the novel. Is that the primary topic? Judging by traffic statistics, I think the magazine is. In that case, WP:2DAB seems appropriate and the current situation is fine. Further, there are a considerable number of links to the magazine article which would all become invalid if the proposal to redirect is implemented. On balance: oppose. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 11:58, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose There are two "The Diplomat" articles. One is a stub about a novel getting ~150 views a month then this one getting ~2000 views per month. I think this is the primary article for "The Diplomat" and I do not see a reason to redirect the term to "diplomat (disambiguation)" because the only people who will find this are people who search with the word "the". Blue Rasberry (talk) 15:16, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There are "The Diplomat (mini-series)", a redirect to False Witness, and The Diplomat (film), Michael Bednarek and Bluerasberry. --George Ho (talk) 19:11, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
