Untitled[edit]

The trivia section mentioned that the gazebo was recently demolished. Instead of correcting this, someone instead commented in the article itself that this was false. I removed both claims given that there's no clear way to determine which is correct. - Augur

Restored Trivia, Removed Plot Spoiler[edit]

I removed the plot because it was a spoiler and unnecessary. I also added some trivia back to the article in a new section called "Background, History, and Pop Culture". I added what I could see fit naturally into a paragraph. After more than a year and a half of watching this article I have seen no effort to fix it up, or remove the total plot synopsis which is not a necessary thing to post on Wikipedia. --User311 21:06, 02 December 2008

Removed Trivia[edit]

Sheen later went on to play two fictional Presidents, Josiah Bartlet, on the television drama The West Wing (1999-2006) and the unnamed, fictional President in the made for television movie Medusa's Child (1997).
Sheen also played president John F. Kennedy in the 1983 miniseries Kennedy.
The photographer who takes the pictures of Stillson shielding himself with Sarah's baby is Martin Sheen's son, Ramon Estevez. According to the filmmakers on the 2006 Special Edition DVD, Estevez was visiting his father on set and was asked to make a cameo in the film.
This film was #51 on Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments.

----The plot is way too detailed and is nothing but a spoiler. Please incorporate trivia back into the article. It is a disaster and needs to be rebuilt, with embedded trivia and a more vague plot outline that doesn't ruin the finale. I apologize for this post's formatting. Cross Links between book, film and TV[edit]

When I was looking for this page, Google landed me on the TV series page. It doesn't seem to mention the film at all. And this page on the film doesn't mention the series. Location of fictional town in Movie vs Book[edit]

Ok so I know lots of Stephen Kings stories take place in the town of Castle Rock, MAINE...

However I'd point out, since this article is about the movie, IN THE MOVIE, the town is in NEW HAMPSHIRE...as easy proof, look at the sheriff's patch when he is in uniform, when he is leaving Johnny's father's house the first time they meet. it says "Castle County New Hampshire"

Tyranny of "Rotten Tomatoes"[edit]

Is it really appropriate or even necessary to slavishly list any film's rating on Rotten Tomatoes? The film dates from 1983, and the site didn't even come into existence until 1998. Rotten Tomatoes gives readers a quick overview, but it is not the most important thing. {{Good article}}s make more effort to include detail analysis from notable critics. As Rotten Tomatoes was only created in 1998 some editors have argued (for various reasons) against including it in articles for films before that date, or to de-emphasize it and include it last not first. Reference to the film in "Grace and Frankie"[edit]

The film is not mentioned by name in the sitcom "Grace and Frankie" (in which the two title characters, played respectively by Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, are abandoned in old age by their husbands so that the latter two can marry each other), but a similar incident occurs in an episode in season 7 of the show: Robert, the Martin Sheen character, grabs his husband Sol, played by Sam Waterston, and uses him as a human shield when the two are performing neighborhood watch one night and are surprised by a raccoon.
