Talk:The Byrds discography

I have added 16 albums to the "Compilations" section of this discography but I'm wondering whether we actually need another section for albums such as Preflyte, Never Before or Another Dimension. These albums are all "archive" albums, consisting of previously unreleased material and studio outtakes, rather than "hits" collections. Perhaps these albums shouldn't be in the same section as other regular "Greatest Hits" style compilations, like History of The Byrds or The Essential Byrds for example. Perhaps we need a new section for Archival Albums or something? Opinions on this issue would be very welcome. Kohoutek1138 19:22, 06 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lead Vocals in Discography.[edit]

Please, post information of who sang lead vocals music by music, album by album. Much fans dont know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.8.96.84 (talk) 04:17, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

While it might be interesting for some to see a list of which band member sang lead vocals on which song, such information is unfortunately beyond the scope of this discography. The Wikipedia discography style guidelines are quite clear that discographies should not include "tracklistings or any other description of the tracks on a release." As such, lead vocalist information is clearly not appropriate. If you really want to get this sort of information, I would suggest either looking on the Byrdwatcher website or reading Johnny Rogan's excellent book Timeless Flight Revisted. --Kohoutek1138 (talk) 13:59, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Friend, there is a way of organizing information lead vocals on Wikipedia that usually accepted. Look at the example below, do so with the Byrds discography of every album too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.8.96.84 (talk) 21:02, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.8.96.84 (talk) 21:05, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see what you mean...I thought you meant including that info on the Byrds Discography page, rather than on the individual album articles. Including that info in the track listings of each album is a possiblity but it means using the "tracklist" template rather than the more simplistic format currently in use. --Kohoutek1138 (talk) 13:35, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Friend, there is another form of organization, see example below.
