Crap[edit]

This TV movie was complete crap. Mike Love was behind it, and it falsely portrays Love as more important than he was, Brian Wilson as some drug-addled idiot, and falsely implied that the relationship between Brian and Dennis was not a good one. I can't believe such garbage could win any awards. Mike Love is a complete and utter lying douchebag and this film is an insult to the rest of the Beach Boys, Brian Wilson in particular. 72.25.89.36 10:11, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, but I have a soft spot for the film - it was my first insight into The Beach Boys and made me want to explore them more. But yes I agree, especially in parts like where the band is recording Add Some Music To Your Day and the movie makes out like Brian doesn't even care for the song and that the band had written it, despite it being written by Wilson himself!! I think that's one of the big myths about Brian Wilson. That after SMiLE he just went to bed for twenty years and didnt do anything musically. A total myth. He was still writing the majority of the songs on the bands Smiley Smile, Wild Honey & Friends albums. Plus he wrote some good songs on the next few albums too (eg: Time To Get Alone, I Went To Sleep, This Whole World, All I Wanna Do, Cool Cool Water, Add Some Music To Your Day, Sail On Sailor, Funky Pretty, Marcella, You Need A Mess of Help To Stand Alone etc...) Didn't John Stamous produce this or have something to do with this movie?--98.87.89.184 (talk) 04:13, 11 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

not crap about the Rubber-Soul-album scene[edit]

This program included a scene showing a living room with a Christmas tree, and (actor playing) Brian Wilson walking into the room holding the Rubber Soul album cover. We are not able to determine if this is the British or U.S. version (he presumably had the U.S. version because he was in the U.S.). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.63.16.47 (talk) 20:20, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
