Copyright violation[edit]

The synopsis added on June 30, 2010 is a cut-and-paste (with minor changes) from the Camp Broadway Field Guide/Stage Notes: [[1]] and thus appears to be a copyright violation. I will delete that entire synopsis and return to the earlier version. I will also alert the IP who added it. (Note the copyright guidelines written below this edit box: "Please do not copy and paste from copyrighted websites – only public domain resources can be copied without permission".) Please do not proliferate cast lists. Broadway is the only major production of this show so far. Only notable replacements should be mentioned. Tour cast is already mentioned in the productions section, and that is enough. Also, we do not need three references for a simple fact. Just list the best, most reliable source that gives the info. Happy/Sad redirect[edit]

I redirected the separate article for "Happy/Sad" to this main article. Unwanted to elaborate on my edit summary there. Looking at that article as it stood, and more importantly its sources, it seems to me that the song is independently WP:notable in its own right. All the sources simply mention the song as part of the coverage of the musical as a whole, and are not about the song itself.

This is in contrast to the song When You're an Addams, which was nominated for a song-specific award, and has been specifically discussed as one of the things changed in the musical between its Chicago try out and its Broadway debut. The When You're an Addams article asserts the songs notability and supports it with sources. Happy/Sad didn't. oknazevad (talk) 03:32, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Awards table[edit]

I think the Tony awards should go first, as they are the most prestigious, followed by the Drama Desk awards. Personally, I don't think the other other awards (and certainly mere nominations for them) are notable enough to have a big fat section of the table, but that's just my opinion. Instead, the lesser awards could be briefly mentioned in the text as part of the description of the particular production. If others agree, we could add that to the MT guidelines, but I think the key thing is to lead off with the Tonys (for B'way shows), the Oliviers (for West End productions), or the most prestigious relevant award for each production. Agreed. I just looked at this article, and I think that the Broadway.com Audience Awards need to go. I have deleted them from the awards table and instead briefly mentioned the winners in the "productions" section. I agree that it would be a good idea to add which awards are considered worth including to the MT article structure guidelines. Make a recommendation at the Talk page for the MT article structure guidelines, and then we can try to get a consensus to put in the guidelines. I think this would be very helpful. Personally, I'd like to limit it to just the top awards: Tonys, Drama Desk, Obie, Olivier Awards, whatever the #2 London award is, maybe a couple of the special ones like the Theatre World Award, or if the show has never been in NY, then maybe a regional award; but I would get rid of Outer Critics' Circle awards, any kind of BS audience award, etc. I don't know anything about France/Germany, etc. Can you find out which awards really are the most prestigious ones worldwide for musicals? -- Ssilvers (talk) 07:27, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please, stop deleting the information of other productions[edit]

The productions in São Paulo and Buenos Aires had complete franchise so they were major productions. In any case, given the importance of theater in Buenos Aires at the global and regional level, you shouldn't minimize that city in the text.
