I have added an internal link to Brite Divinity as it is a part of TCU but it also reports to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). If anyone would like to help with that page, it would be great. Also maybe it would be good to explain the relationship of Brite and its independent government and endowment on the TCU page.

I plan to work on this page for my alma mater, but feel free to add any changes you feel necessary.

If anyone could add "Raymond A. Brown" to the infobox as the Dean of Admssion, that would be great.

Why? It is neither part of the template, nor stated on any other college page that I can think of. And why does an admissions dean matter? The whole emphasis on this page of Brown is disturbing. Not to mention the section on admissions just seems out of place, not well written, and very general (What are these records spoken so highly of?). It all strikes me as a Cult of Personality, and I would move that they all those mentions be removed. --patton1138 19:32, 17 September 2005 (UTC)

I've removed the section, as no one objected to my original objection. Please discuss here before reverting. --patton1138 21:04, 20 September 2005 (UTC)

I agree with not including Mr. Brown. However, he is one of the most reconized Dean of Admissions' in the United States, as I recall. So much so, that, according to his biography, was on the staff of the new SAT... just a thought.

A cursory Internet search turns up nothing on this guy other than TCU pages (most directory listings) really. So I'd say he's not all that important to include here. --patton1138 13:39, 22 September 2005 (UTC)

I am, however, going to remove the links in the football schedule as it's useless. Any thoughts? --zephern 20 September 2005

I'd go ahead and eliminate the whole schedule thing. This is an encylcopedia, and such doesn't belong in an encyclopedia. Those are things more appropriate on something like a personal website than an encyclopedia entry. --patton1138 13:35, 22 September 2005 (UTC)

I agree, somewhat. I'll wait a day to see if anyone else objects, then I'll remove it... Now, per your statement on Mr. Brown, Dean of Admissions arn't very well known, so yeah, I can see why it didn't pull up too many listings. This is the best I could do: http://www.google.com/search?q=raymond+a+brown+dean+of+admission&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official --zephern 20 September 2005

Everything is looking great on this page! Way to go guys--we really cleared out all the clutter and made it more user-friendly. Give yourself a pat on the back!

Proposed deletion of "Majors" section

This section seems to be nothing more than advertising for the university. I propose to delete it if arguments for its value are not provided, or if it is not appropriately condensed. Cheers, Colonel Tom 10:55, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

I've deleted the Majors section, as no objections were noted. Colonel Tom 06:32, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

I hope, Colonel Tom, that I am editing this correctly. This page, beside the history, seems to be in a transition; it's a bit too PR for now, but leaning much more toward an encyclopediac entry. I am new to all of this, so how could I best help? The alum section needs organization, addition, and removals, for one thing.

The history section is off to a great start. Yet the histoery has not developed: where is Moudy, Ferrari, Boschini? And Bestsy Colquitt, Jim Corder, and stories from its heyday as a national powerhouse? I will attept to research the school's history this coming fall, and if able, work with the professor who teaches the history of TCU.

The school has a wild history and is fantastic place to be, with, too, alums who once ruled Texas, and in many cases, like in the field of journalism, still do. Let's make this page an example.

Proposed deletion of "Football" section

There is no reason to single out football into its own overbloated section separate from the Athletics section above it. When I went to TCU, the basketball team was a bigger deal (the football team couldn't win any games), and the swim team also distinguished itself nationally. I don't see the point in singling out football, especially with the inappropriate detail currently given. I propose to delete it unless someone can provide a good argument for its value, or condense it significantly. -Amatulic 23:14, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

I am deleting most (but not all) of the football section, as no objections were noted and a full week has passed. -Amatulic 19:36, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
One important "football" fact was that after 1984, when TCU's team enjoyed a good year under coach Steve Wacker, the number of admissions applications went up by a factor of seven times the previous year's level. (Murray Sperber calls this effect the "Flutie Factor".) --Dawud

John Vaught should be added to the alumni section

Notable alumni

I'm not a TCU booster, but surely the school has produced alumni of greater distinction than the endless roll of forgotten jocks who dominate the section? --Orange Mike 14:26, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Origin of AddRan?

What was the origin of the name AddRan? Seems like it should be mentioned in the article.--Southronite (talk) 06:54, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

TCU is using a new shade of purple as of 2012

According to this Visual Identity Standards guidebook from TCU, the correct "TCU purple" for website development is #4d1979. Here is a list of all wiki articles about TCU that need to use this new color:

TCU, UNT Health Science Center to open M.D. school in Fort Worth

Please add paragraph to the Academics section about the new medical school TCU and UNTHSC will be starting with the first class beginning in 2018. See link to article in local paper below.
