Movement and feeding[edit]

how does tetrahymena move and how does it obtain food? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.229.156.161 (talk) 19:37, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Commensalism and pathogenicity[edit]

commensal with and pathogenic to what species? what disease states? commensal where? in the gut? don't leave us hanging.Toyokuni3 (talk) 20:56, 27 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Genus and species[edit]

Tetrahymena thermophila is redirected to Tetrahymena. I don't know why. Normally, there is a page for the genus and another for the species. Genus Tetrahymena has several species. Almost the whole information of the page is about T, thermophila, so the page should be named 'Tetrahymena thermophila' and a new page on the genus should be made.--Miguelferig (talk) 17:53, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A nice video[edit]

Here's a really nice video taken using new lattice light sheet technology: http://vimeo.com/109404940 Maybe it could go under external links?Notrium (talk) 22:25, 23 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No species section[edit]

Why doesn’t this article have a species section?CycoMa (talk) 04:35, 13 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The redirects aren’t needed[edit]

The species of these redirects are notable enough for their own articles. So it makes so sense for them to have redirects.CycoMa (talk) 15:38, 13 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Making articles and moving stuff[edit]

I am gonna make articles for all the species for this. I will also move a bunch of facts in this article to their own species article. Because the species in this article pass the test of notability.CycoMa (talk) 16:40, 13 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Too much focus on a single species[edit]

This article is just straight up bizarre. It only focuses on species.CycoMa (talk) 16:08, 14 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Gonna move around info[edit]

I’m gonna move stuff around to other articles. There is a decent amount of info on this genus as well as each species. It’s just gonna take me some time to do this tho.CycoMa (talk) 21:04, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology[edit]

I'm used to 'tetra-' meaning four. What is there four of, or else what are the parts of the name tetrahymena, that relate to the set of cells that belong in the collection? 2404:4404:2785:C500:9678:BC5F:4515:6741 (talk) 07:37, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
