What about software designed to test hardware, or a combination of hardware and firmware, or a combination of hardware, firmware and software, e.g. in an embedded system. Basically an embedded system provides a function - which can be tested. Testing methodologies should concentrate on testing functions regardless of thier implementation details (HW/FW/SW). 213.185.243.153 (talk) 20:51, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
