Advertising section[edit]

Appears to focus only on advertising in the UK. Zazaban 03:34, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd agree - can anyone who knows add to this section? Rowmn (talk) 19:21, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Estrogen (Feb08)[edit]

I've just removed the following sentence: "It has recently been the target of heavy criticism for its originally unrevealed use of estrogen as a key ingredient in its production." I can find no evidence of this 'heavy criticism' after 20 minutes of searching the internet. As the sentence was recently added it may be vandalism. Rowmn (talk) 19:21, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Availability[edit]

I live in the surrounding Chicago area (aurora, geneva, naperville) and I cannot find this product anywhere anymore....it used to be heavily sold around the holidays like Christmas & Easter, like at Target & Walmart. Can you tell me anything about this? Cheryl — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.272.75.122 (talk) 14:11, 18 March 2009

I've noticed the same thing. I've checked Amazon, "Notify me when these become available." Kraft's website simply has a logo acknowledging they own the brand, no news. I can't find them anywhere. Anybody have any news? For these to be unavailable in December, something's got to be up. 72.147.255.140 (talk) 03:43, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Private Selection - Kroger Store brand[edit]

I recently started seeing something almost identical to the Terry Orange at a Ralphs Grocery store - it had a "Private Selection" label on it, one of the Kroger brands. Are these real Terry oranges or knockoffs? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.100.47.217 (talk) 09:09, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

contradiction?[edit]

"It is a ball of chocolate mixed with orange oil" "Although a recent claim by a Mr. L Wood has led many people to believe that the product is made with real oranges, this is not the case"

If it has orange oil, wouldn't that make it "made with real oranges"?

Also, who is L Wood and why is he referenced here? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.98.68.2 (talk) 20:57, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

@british' product / Made in England?[edit]

The article describes this as a British product. I believe however that these are now no longer made in the UK - can anyone confirm this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.245.198.135 (talk) 12:41, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't seem to say anywhere on the packaging, but this article says they have been made in Poland since 2005: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1245562/How-long-Cadburys-chocolate-Polish-factory.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.7.220.70 (talk) 18:13, 13 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

VARIED BRANDS OF TERRY'S CHOCOLATE ORANGE

I have read somewhere that at one time there have been Terry's chocolate orange easter eggs, but i still fail to see proof of this, i've spent hours searching but still no sign of their existence. Please add to this if you know anything about their availability or what happened to them if they were made. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.174.98.29 (talk) 18:49, 28 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Late response...but, in my 1950's childhood, a major highlight of the year was a Terry's Egg for Easter. This was a huge treat since, for me, Terry's chocolate was seldom seen at any other time of the year (at least,in the area the I grew up) 122.106.177.188 (talk) 21:43, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Chocolate Lemon[edit]

The article contradicts its self, was this introduced in 1970 or the 1980s? Talltim (talk) 09:27, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Country Poland?[edit]

The infobox states Country as The Chocolate Works, York, England. The Chocolate Works was closed in 2005 and the article further states the product is now manufactured in Poland. Should this be changed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.106.177.188 (talk) 21:39, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Terry’s orange mint[edit]

Can you tell me if these are ever going to be available again ? Stephsmit (talk) 23:06, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Citations[edit]

I've removed this citation: "Stop messing with Terry's, it's mine! Anger over 'shrinking' of Chocolate Orange". The Telegraph. 8 October 2016. Retrieved 16 January 2020., because it gives an incorrect date of 2012 for the move of the plant to Poland, which was actually 2005, and is the information being sourced in the article. It also doesn't specify the location, Jankowice / Poznan, as noted in the article.

I've also reinstated these two just-removed citations: Delgado, Martin. "How long before Cadbury's chocolate is made in this Polish factory?". Daily Mail. London. Retrieved 13 October 2012., despite WP:DAILYMAIL, and https://www.thesun.co.uk/money/7985307/terrys-classic-festive-treat-chocolate-orange-france despite WP:THESUN. Both of these articles appear to be well-researched and reliable for the information they support.

I searched a bit for alternative sources, but couldn't find anything readily, particularly for the specific location in Poland. If anyone can find better-quality replacements, go ahead. But I think that simply nuking them and leaving the information unsourced isn't in the best interest of the article. --IamNotU (talk) 00:57, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

They're both deprecated sources, considered generally unreliable - they literally shouldn't be used at all except in extremely narrow circumstances. They don't count as verifiable cites to reliable sources for the facts. If there really aren't RS cites for these claims - and I couldn't find better than that Tele cite - then the claims can't stand. As such, I've removed them altogether - we can add them back if an RS turns up - David Gerard (talk) 10:33, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
