Novelas That Saved Telemundo

It is generally agreed that what saved Telemundo from bankruptcy in 2000 was when they aired the Brazilian novela Xica da Silva and the Colombian novela Yo Soy, Betty la Fea. Both novelas were international sensations that aire first in Telemundo. This article should mention that.

Laughing stock

The following is in the article: The network also tried its luck by having a priest anchor a talk show. "Padre Alberto", Father Alberto Cutie, a Miami priest was tapped in to host this program. Sadly, this venture also failed. If Telemundo had any traces of ratings this experiment was the last nail on its coffin. Telemundo became the laughing stock of the industry. Viewers left the network in droves. Local stations lost the little audience share they had and heads began to roll once again. The Tortoricci team was out and Jim MacNamara a former Universal Pictures executive born in Panama was hired to preside over embattled Telemundo. Is this true? The words laughing stock are harsh. Not necessarily, Before NBC Universal bought the network, Telemundo used to be regularly parodied on Saturday Night Live. I read elsewhere that Telemundo had been considered a Laughing Stock, but added a request for citation to that part of the article. --dhett 21:20, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Yahoo! Telemundo?

What about Yahoo! Telemundo??? Is it owned by Yahoo! or by Telemundo? I'm seriously confused!

Morning Wars

This section is quite confusing and poorly written. I tried cleaning it up, but couldn't tell when the editor was writing about De Mañanita, Telenoticias, or any of the other newscasts mentioned. Also, "breakfastcast", while clever, isn't a word, and therefore, shouldn't be used in the article. --dhett 21:20, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Renovating this Article

I renovated this article because this article didn't make any sense. There were a bunch of errors when it came to spelling, the history section was extremely long and confusing, and there were some unnecessary sections that needed to be cleared out. Slight Correction to make, the Saturday and Sunday lineup is incorrect,the new line up for Saturday and Sunday is (courtsey Telemundo) :

  • VAS O NO VAS 7-8:30 pm Saturday
  • SEGURO y URGENTE 8:30-9pm Saturday
  • CINEMUNDO SABADO 9-11p saturday
  • CINEMUNDO DOMINGO 7-11pm Sunday

Actually if you look at other broadcaster articles like Fox Broadcasting Company, its program section follows the Manual of Style which says information about television programs should be notable and in prose narrative form. Substantial programs should be a List article and appear as a See Main|Article as in the Fox_Broadcasting_Company#Programming section. The See further, which is a form of See Main|Article, wikilinks to List of programs broadcast by Fox. Additional information about why tvguide electronic program guide info is not detailed in a main article like Telemundo's is found at Wikipedia is not an electronic programming guide. --Morenooso (talk) 02:36, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Addition to Hialeah page

Schedules

I have restored the prime-time schedule to this article. While WP:NOT specifies that Wikipedia is not a TV Guide, it does make an exception for a nationwide network's prime-time schedule. Also, keep in mind that the English networks' schedules exist in their articles, with no opposition. -- azumanga (talk) 03:07, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Cleanup tag added - 2010-04-06

This article has nonstandard citation method, WP:MOS style errors and indiscriminate information present within it. In order to bring it back up to proper Wikipedia Manual of Style class, the following is recommended:

  • Inline citations - Should take the form of [URL Title Retrieval-Date.]. Here is a verifiable reliable sourced citation:
  • Image location - is nonstandard. Images should be as MoS be located on the right side of the article and not greater than 180px.
  • TVguide section present - Should be in narrative prose form. Recommend either deleting or moving to a List article.
  • Coming Soon 2010 section - Please see WP:CRYSTAL. Source these additions and/or eliminate them if they cannot be sourced with WP:RS third party neutral citations.
  • Overlinkage of wikilinks - Wikilinks should only be linked once and preferrably the first time they appear in the article. A second mention of these wikilinks, like what was just typed, should not have brackets which cause overlinkage. --Morenooso (talk) 03:19, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

What about that program table and "table-ette", moreno oso? I'm totally on the fence. On the plus side, they're discreet, occupying less than a screenful of space. I rate articles in my wiki-travels. B/High is the highest I will rate. Top signifies that this is "the end-all, must know all in order to understand this wikiproject". That is a bit overstated or sugar-coated, but indicates that the article really defines the wikiproject. Telemundo may contribute to the understanding of some wikiprojects but it is hardly the "end all" or "must know all". And, before your copyedits this article was not in a B status which usually means the wikiproject ran a checklist to determine if the article met standards for citations, composition, thoroughness, etc. ----moreno oso (talk) 12:39, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Expanding on Telemundo Reality TV Shows

Telemundo introduced 2 reality TV Shows in 2003 and 2004, La Cenicienta and Amor Descardo. The addition of this entry can point to reality TV popularity in Spanish-speaking viewer markets. Conducting research now to confirm the high viewer ratings for the program La Cenicienta. Already conducted research on Nely Galan, Executive Producer of La Cenicienta. why can i not see any subs ...

hi i am from greece, and i love telemundo, so i started to watch in telemundo novelas couse in my country do not have much. the fact is that suddenly cant see any subs. i do open cc i did it try with both language, than i tried with diffirent browser than i tried to see again from the start...but nothng. why? does that mean that here in greece can we see it wuth subs; or has something to do with my IP; plzzzz answer me, couse u r my only solution to see telenovelas... thnks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.54.71.217 (talk) 15:35, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

John Blair & Co.

A reference to "Blair Broadcasting" was added on 23 November 2006 without explaining how Blair had acquired WKAQ-TV from Ramos in order for Blair to sell the station to Reliance Group Holdings. The page for Ángel Ramos mentions that John Blair & Co. acquired Telemundo (presumably in the form of WKAQ-TV) on April 14, 1983. A New York Times article from July of that year states that Blair was awaiting FCC approval of its purchase of WKAQ-TV and styles the company name as "John Blair & Co." (John Blair Stations). However, there is currently no citation for the April date of sale. I have added the date of sale without citation and done some minor cleaning up. Ed Oppty (talk) 21:31, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

Jose Dias Ballard

I have lived in this great country most of my life and I have never listened to such bias reporting as the socialistic comments and constant reporting of Jose Dias Ballard. If he had gas for brains he would not have enough to propel him around a BB.
