Misc[edit]

We need copyright free photos of the Tektronix line of oscilloscopes especially the earlier ones like the 511, if you want to submit some photos I will appreciate. If you go to the Wikipedia Commons search page you'll see that there much to be desire with the Tektronix photos. If you want to submit some nice photos go to this page Wikipedia Commons Upload Wizard. They will be available to all the Wikipedia community.

Deprod[edit]

I am going to deprod this article because there are a number of secondary sources out there (some of these are listed in the external links and in the references), which suggests that this topic meets WP:GNG guidelines and is notable. I agree with the prodder that the article could use some expansion, and conversion to a more encyclopedic tone. But these are surmountable problems (see WP:SURMOUNTABLE) and are thus matters of editing, not deletion. --Mark viking (talk) 04:30, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wandering topic[edit]

The article beings saying "analog" (leading one to beleive article is limited there) but covers Digital Storage scopes (Tek 24xx series). This can lead to problems for those shopping for analog lab scopes.

The article beings by saying "vintage" but includes current Tektronix scopes which are at the leading edge of the industry.

The article does acknowlege 24xx series DSO (and higher) were amazing for their time: it so happens the technology and the language and form of the documentation were used by competitors in making todays DSOs.

Modern or not many of the best in the industry will not say "an expensive DSO is the only tool to have", much the opposite they may advise having an analog as a stand-by for several reasons.

It is true there are Vintage Tek scopes they've been in the business and doing good busines as long time (and hold many patents others use). However the flavor of the article putting all Tek scops in the "vintage section" is obviously defamation or a kind of attack.

Note their is a sticker on the back of scopes that say: for use by qualified laboratory personell only - please don't leave them in the dirt or let children play with them.

Analog storage 'scopes[edit]

Missing are the analog storage scopes using the 611 CRT technology. This was an innovation of Tektronix which allowed the display of a single sweep to be preserved on the CRT, very handy for one-shot events. BMJ-pdx (talk) 20:52, 15 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
