I'll bite. The tekko is mentioned in "Ancient Okinawan Martial Arts: Koryu Uchinadi" on page 21, compiled by Patrick McCarthy et al, published by Tuttle Publishing in September 1999, ISBN: 0804831475. I've also seen reference to them as "tekken" (roughly "hand blade"), along with many images that more closely resemble their origin... as a horseshoe. 68.108.104.183 09:12, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've tried to enhance the quality of this article but, being new to this, am still in the process of citing sources. One really good one is by Sid Campbell. Someone who knows something on this subject really needs to clarify the information about the manufacture of these weapons: it is really unclear whether they are regularly made of brass, sometimes made of brass, or traditionally made of brass. I would ammend this myself, but I have never heard of these things. Rje 21:30, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
