CPA[edit]

Left CPA in 1959 because of invasion of Hungary in 1956? Or should the word "following" be taken literally?--Jack Upland 01:56, 31 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well, 1959 does "follow" 1956, but not immediately. I don't know enough about him to know what the exact cause of his resigntion was. As with most people who left at that time, it was presumably a combination of the Secret Speech and Hungary, followed by the CPA leadership's refusal to allow any internal debate about these events.
