I made some additions, but took out some incorrect text. First of all Golan was Tartan Bearer's full-brother and not half-brother. They are both by Spectrum. Also Spectrum did not finish second in the Derby. He was unplaced behind Lammtarra. Tartan Bearer stayed in training as a 5yo and in fact was mentioned in gallops reports but was finally retired in the Autumn of 2010 without running again.
