new edits changed definition to:

Tape refers to a [strip] of long, thin and narrow matter, usually rolled up. It can also refer to any of the following: ...

while

strip a long narrow piece cut from a sheet material (metal plastic plywood etc)

thus now, substituting from strip

definition of tape is:

Tape refers to a (long narrow piece cut from a sheet material) of long, thin and narrow [matter], usually rolled up.

something long long and narow narow is raher very very long and very very narow :)

This is to show hypercorective tautology in single language.

A Precursor to Compact Disc?[edit]

While the argument could be made that the compact cassette tape was a precursor to the compact disc, I don't believe that "Optical celluloid tape used in movie projectors" (i.e. film) really has anything to do with compact discs at all. Am I wrong?

There has been no discussion and no clue as to what was intended here. I have removed it it the merged version (Tape). --Kvng (talk) 14:17, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
