Comments about whether Temple avenue is middle class are not should be removed - by all measn dispute the accuracy of the article but comments like this should be made in the Talk pages rather than the article itself. The current text is technically correct - Temple avenue is MORE middle class - but could be misleading, as the anonymous commentor has added Temple avenue is not middle class (if such a classificaiton has meaning).

I agree as a former resident of Etty Ave, Tang Hall, York that Temple Ave is more towards middle class, but it is hardly worth mentioning. Temple ave is still domintly more working class, what sets it apart from other streets such as Etty 'Burlo' (Burlington Ave) is the more tammed behaviour and attitudes of the residents (mainly because the famous 'Bruff' and 'Brolly' families do not reside there. These families are well known by York residents as the 'Gangsta Wannabies', hence low life trouble causes. As well as these issues Temple Ave households tend to be more presentable, thay actually have hedges, fences, gutter pipes, and cars that have not been set on fire by vandals (or perhaps the 'Bruff' and 'Brolly' families). Streets such as Etty shouldnt even be regarded as working class because half the residents don't even work, they are off the scale. Many resident living down streets such as Etty Ave will never work a day in their life apart from comunity service, in contrast to resisdents from Temple Ave. perhaps Temple Ave should be reagrded as working class, and other streets such as 'Burlo' and Etty Ave should be re-classified as the York Councils dumping ground delinquent residents.

As a current resident of Foxwood, I understand that the neighboring area of Dringhouses is in fact not middle class as previously suggested, perhaps the 'new middle clss', but more predomintly working class. It is actually compareable to Temple Ave.

In addition to the schools section, I would like to add that Derwent Infant andJunior School enroles a lot of pupils from the Tang Hall are, I beleive it is not currently mentioned.

That's absolutely ridiculous. I've lived in Etty Avenue for 3 years and never seen any trouble. I would say that most of the inhabitants either work or are retired. What kind of snobbery attempts to categorise streets on a scale of class? SillyWilly 01:22, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I Agree when it comes to catagorising streets on scale of class. I would like to make clear that my reflecion on Etty Ave was absolutly accurate six years ago when I lived there. I' am not going to guess how many houses were tennantless, or accupied by squatters. How many cars where reagulaly set on fire, how many houses were broken into (including my own shed 3 times), how many windows smashed, old ladies mugged, how many cats had fireworks placed in their rectums etc. Perhaps a lot has changed in Six Years. And yes a mojority of people did work, or had retired form earning a respectable living; but the reputation of certain tennants leave behind a long history in Ety Ave and speak over the top of the honest tennants(householders). Which is a contrast to Temple Ave. Dsando 22:08, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
