Shinmachi[edit]

Normally, yes, -machi is a suffix meaning town. However in the case of Shinmachi, this is literally the name of the town/area. Before merging with Takasaki, it was Shinmachi-shi. Therefore, calling it "Shin" is weird. Locals here would be confused if referred to as such. And yes, I live here if you were wondering. Also, automobile parts and bearing product company of NSK, antibody and Biotechnology product company, Kyowahakko Kirin, timerecorder, stapler and nail gun product company of Max, toiletry company of Proctor and Gamble, corn flakes product company of Kellogg's, milk product company of Takanashi, baking product company of First Baking, food processing company of Kracie are factory location in Takasaki.
