Merger discussion: Does this really warrant its own article?[edit]

I don't see how this topic warrants a separate article. Couldn't the content just be included in feminine hygiene? I see that the same content had also been added to culture and menstruation.EMsmile (talk) 03:21, 4 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

User:Britishfinance what is your opinion on this? EMsmile (talk) 10:20, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
EMsmile. I have no particular view on this. When I searched for WP:GNG I did find several references to the term in material papers so I have no strong objection to the article. Britishfinance (talk) 10:46, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
User:Britishfinance Do you think there is enough material there to ever make it into a full blown article? to me it sounds like just a buzz word. Should I start the formal process about "proposal for deletion"? EMsmile (talk) 10:50, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
EMsmile. There are WP:RS articles of which SM is the subject ([1], [2], [3], [4]), plus it also appears in a search of books. I would be surprised if it failed AfD (it is not a strong delete case). Even reading these articles, it seems a material issue in developing countries, so perhaps a bigger article could be created. Britishfinance (talk) 11:02, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Britishfinance : The issue is indeed big, but I am doubtful about the need for a separate new article on this term: The bigger article on this topic already exists and it's Menstrual hygiene day. In addition, or alternatively, the topic could be included in feminine hygiene. What is the advantage of having a stand alone article on this which will likely dublicate and overlap with what is already available in the other two articles that I mentioned? EMsmile (talk) 11:40, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. the sources that you provided are all to newspaper articles in India. Is it possible that this is mainly an "Indian" term? Looking at the articles they mainly talk about reusable cloth and menstrual cups. We have Wikipedia articles for those already: cloth menstrual pad, menstrual cup. I think in general it is better to build up existing articles and mention "sustinable menstruation" there, rather than creating a new article which is likely to get few views.EMsmile (talk) 11:45, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
What do you think about this, User:discospinster and User:Aabrakadaabra? EMsmile (talk) 00:43, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I feel sustainable menstruation warrants a separate section. It refers to environment friendly practices/ lifestyle choices visavis menstruation. I feel it falls broadly under category of saving the environment and not under feminine hygiene. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Poonamkj (talkcontribs) 09:05, 16 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
