Merger proposal[edit]

It is proposed to merge Sunland, Los Angeles with Tujunga, Los Angeles in this new article, Sunland-Tujunga, Los Angeles for the reasons set forth in the lede of the new article. If you do a search of the Los Angeles Times archives, you will find that the two communities are now linked more often than they are divided. If you have a library card, go to http://proquest.umi.com.ezproxy.lapl.org/pqdweb?SQ=Sunland-Tujunga&DBId=603&date=ALL&onDate=&beforeDate=&afterDate=&fromDate=&toDate=&pubtitle=&author=&FT=0&AT=any&revType=review&revPos=all&sortby=REVERSE_CHRON&RQT=305&querySyntax=PQ&searchInterface=1&moreOptState=CLOSED&TS=1286392273&h_pubtitle=&h_pmid=&clientId=13322&JSEnabled=1. Hearing no objections, I am completing the merger. Sincerely, GeorgeLouis (talk) 19:46, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of population comparisons[edit]

I made a chart comparing Sunland and Tujunga with neighboring communities. At the time I thought the comparisons were valuable and interesting (still do), but now they are getting out of date and, besides, they were certainly the result of my own research comparing one neighborhood with another, using census data. That's WP:Original research, so for both reasons I am removing the chart. GeorgeLouis (talk) 19:13, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

SFV or Verdugos?[edit]

Admittedly the Los Angeles Times is adding a bit to the confusion about where to designate Sunland/Tujunga. My understanding is that it is considered part of the San Fernando Valley; the Los Angeles Times designates it as such in a link I cited. But it also lists it as belonging to the Verdugos at another link. (Is this an alternate name for the Crescenta Valley?) Instead of tit-for-tatting one over the other, is there a way to phrase the lede so as to indicate the district as belonging to both the SFV and the Verdugos/Crescenta Valley as a sub-region? It doesn’t seem like an either/or situation to me, so I think we have room for a compromise.CurryTime7-24 (talk) 21:53, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

OK, never mind. My mistake. The LAT designates Shadow Hills within the SFV but Sunland/Tujunga proper as being within the Verdugos/Crescenta Valley. Let me fix that right now. —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 21:57, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with your decision. While technically Sunland/Tujunga is outside of the SFV and in a valley of its own (Crescenta Valley) between the Verdugo Mountains, I understand a lot of people still refer to it as being part of the SFV. I think making a compromise and listing that it's in both the SFV and Verdugo Mountains region is satisfactory.

I agree. It's both.BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 19:22, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Issue with weather data units[edit]

When adding new weather data on May 18 2022 it seems that imperial and metric units were switched in the first column i.e. listing data as mm (inches) but putting the mm measurement in parenthesis rather than the inches one. I believe this edit was done by a bot and I can't figure out how to undo it. Perhaps the same mistake has been made on other pages. Callum Cuda (talk) 20:41, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
