Similarity with Braniff history website[edit]

Large portions of this article and www.thebranifffamily.org/suncountry.asp are verbatim. Someone needs to cite someone. Since I'm lazy, I'll post it here and see if someone takes care of it. I'm just here to learn. 149.169.20.229 18:33, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed much of the verbatim copy that was added in this edit, and I've added the site as a ref for the paraphrased content. If anyone wants to expand the article and clean it up, you can use the above ref as well as this page from FundingUniverse, but any used content should be paraphrased. - M0rphzone (talk) 00:32, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Remove redirect[edit]

Currently SCX and Scx redirect to this page, I'm proposing to move SCX (disambiguation) to SCX and Scx (and rephrase it). Comments to Talk:SCX (disambiguation)#Move to SCX, not below. AWoodland (talk) 22:24, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect plus prices[edit]

International should be $69 and 10 cents, not $89 and 10 cents: https://uflyplus.suncountry.com/vipticketprices.aspx —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.160.127.57 (talk) 14:46, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed them per Wikipedia's policy on prices. - M0rphzone (talk) 00:35, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Airlines of the United States templates[edit]

There are currently two 'Airlines of the United States' templates near the bottom of the article. The first/top one is embedded in the Sun Country article (rather than a separate template) and the second is an actual separate template page. I recommend either eliminating the first embedded template or create it as a separate template page. Dj1997 (talk) 15:29, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Future Sun Country business model changes[edit]

StarTribune reported on a change in business model on August 16, 2017. Allegedly, the airline will try to offer cheaper flights with less frills. Add-ons such as overhead bin space could be bought by customers in need. This is entirely based on an internal memo issued by CEO Jude Bricker, with spokesperson Kelsey Dodson-Smith stating "In regards to the vision for the company and strategy surrounding it, we are not ready to share that information." This might be something to watch as the story develops and becomes more public. Czycha (talk) 18:46, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nashville and Portland: New Focus Cities?[edit]

It seems that Sun Country is establishing Nashville and Portland, similar to DFW. The big question is if these cities would be considered focus cities when the flights begin in November. Sun Country does not officially lists DFW as a focus city on its website, but is considered a focus city on Wikipedia. 98.193.213.124 (talk) 18:37, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I would wait a while here to see what they do with these cities in the Summer of 2019. DFW has year round flights to multiple destinations which is why Wikipedia keeps this as a focus city. Wait until next year to see is PDX and BNA are year-round. Raine004 (talk) 03:42, 20 October 2018 (UTC)Raine004[reply]

Controversies[edit]

Please stop adding a controversies section to this page. Per WP:AIRLINE-CONTENT incidents should only be included if they: A. The event resulted in changes to procedures, regulations or processes affecting airports, airlines or the aircraft industry. B. The event involved hull loss or serious damage to the aircraft or airport. Or C. The event was fatal to either aircraft occupants or persons on the ground.

These incidents are all just that, controversy and not incidents that resulted in a larger change of policy in the Airline Industry.

The COI template should stay if there is a thought that the article is being edited as part of a COI.

Cargo fleet[edit]

The cargo fleet will be owned by Amazon and should probably not be listed on this page. As a general rule, aircraft are included if they are owned by the carrier, e.g. Alaska's cargo fleet, and not listed if they are owned by another company, e.g. Empire Airlines for Hawaiian's cargo operations. Can we remove it? Mirza Ahmed (talk) 02:44, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

SY will be paying the lease for 10 freighters, thus assuming operational ownership. The only required change should be to include 10 "orders" instead of just 2. [1] Patrickwatsondev (talk) 16:40, 22 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
