I propose that this article be merged with the Su-9 as the two aircraft are almost identical and are very closely linked in terms of design anyway. A better encyclopaewdia article will result rather than two incomplete articles.Petebutt (talk) 02:05, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

But with this argument the complete Flanker-Family would require one single article. Does not make sense. --JuergenKlueser (talk) 13:04, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes for some , no for others, a judgement has to be made on a case by case basis. Those with similar roles and minimal differences (similar to the su-9 and Su-11, which were virtually identical apart from engine, avionics, the forward nose and a few other details) MAY be justified in coverage in a single article. Any way once you read the re-vamped article you will see that it rolls together well, plus the fact that there were over 1,000 Su-9's built and only 108 Su-11's built! say no more, the Su-11's were little more than a sub-variant.
Ironically the first Su-9 also had an off-shoot Su-11 (as well as an Su-13), and these are also justified in being covered ina single article.

Apart from that there was very little in the Su-11 article not already covered in the Su-9 one, and a simple re-direct will send enquirers to where they can find the best information. I could go on for months but I won't. I shall let the article speak for itselfPetebutt (talk) 17:33, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have done everything now and will put a re-direct into this article. Do not panic all is reversible if there is massive objectionPetebutt (talk) 17:42, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
