  • Neutral (but interested!) //Big Adamsky 22:27, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support I see no reason to use the non-english Norden when there is a perfectly good word in english //Kriko 23:36, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - Nordic countries more frequently used in English - Williamborg 02:23, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. A move makes sense based on the most common English usage. --NormanEinstein 17:14, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support: using an English title makes this much more clear to most of our readers. Jonathunder 21:01, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

From counties to regions?[edit]

Can anyone provide confirmation or links concerning the prospects of replacing the current counties with larger regions? According to the article, these potential regions would then resemble the upcoming reorganization in Denmark and their size would be on par with the EU NUTS regions. :) // Big Adamsky BA's talk page 21:37, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why?[edit]

Why does this article cover local government in a group of separate nation states. Surely local governance should be adequately covered in each of the respective national artices? ~~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.42.175.133 (talk) 12:13, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. What is the point of grouping local government articles of five independent countries? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.42.175.133 (talk) 15:48, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree too. Why not add 'Local government in the Northern Hemisphere', while we're at it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.42.175.117 (talk) 15:41, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Update needed[edit]

See Talk:Provinces of Finland#Major update needed. --Silvonen (talk) 07:04, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Updates needed at least to Denmark and Finland[edit]

I added the "Out of date" template to the top of the page, because both the Finnish and Danish first-order administrative subdivisions have been updated since 1998. --Teemu Leisti (talk) 00:52, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

True, and also the number of Finland's municipalities have been reduced quite a lot. The number here (432) is from 2005. 82.141.126.28 (talk) 07:05, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
