Disambiguation[edit]

Following its recent change, Subdistrict is now top of the Disambiguation pages with links error report. Are you able to help fix the resulting broken links? Certes (talk) 20:35, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I see it's no longer a dab, though some of its incoming links may still benefit from diversion to a more specific topic. Certes (talk) 22:30, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It's intended to be a disambiguation page, as that was the AfD result. The change to a "set" was probably wrong. I'll take a look at the links (primarily via a single useless template), but this is the kind of thing that I'd expected others to be working on in parallel.

I didn't spot the AfD, which seems inconclusive. It's an awkward case as it's debatably a BCA: all meanings are "part of a district"; we don't have Subdistrict (film) etc. Some incoming links would be better targetted to Subdistricts of China etc. but others are legitimate, which suggests that a dab isn't ideal. I fixed most of the templates which linked there yesterday as an easy way to reduce incoming links from to 1260 to 478. Certes (talk) 12:29, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for fixing templates, that helped a lot, I've fixed another. Technically almost everything is a kind of "district", that's why they are called "Administrative districts". Actually, none of the meanings of the list entries are "part of a district". These were arbitrarily assigned by various editors (usually not sourced) as a kind of placeholder for "small", but not "smallest". More appropriately townships as noted. Or even streets. Just a garbage page, so I'd nominated for deletion. One editor thought it should be a disambiguation page, nobody else commented in a week, so we tried that.... Now it's a "set" catch-all page.
