Why is there an advertisement for the book in the article?75.139.245.218 17:50, 19 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have written to the Strasburg RR for non-copyrighted information. 216.164.138.57 13:43, 22 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I have visited the RR and recommend it to anyone looking for a good family day-trip.09:58, 14 February 2006 (UTC)BlueTemplar13

I changed the importance from low to mid. I use the general rule that if a railroad or museum is operating or open to the public it should be mid. I use low on non-operating or defunct outfits. n2xjk 05:04, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, changing the importance to mid is a good idea. SRR is one of two places in North America that has the facilities to restore and repair steam locomotives. Grango242 03:24, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Strasburg Rail Road logo.jpg[edit]

Image:Strasburg Rail Road logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Locomotive status[edit]

(Personal attack removed) You keep on deleting the fact that Strasburg #4 is going under restoration, even though there's proof!!! See this: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locoPicture.aspx?id=100329

See the proof? 98.177.248.237 (talk) 01:26, 8 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

While it is certainly true that 4/1187 returned to the SRC from the museum in 2003, in recent years the engine has been sitting outside while shop work has been focused on contract work and on Strasburg's operable engines. The photos you've provided show that the engine has been outside in storage, rather than under active repair. I and several other editors feel it is misleading to imply that the engine is under active restoration.
Also, I encourage you to choose alternative wordings when communicating to other Wikipedia editors, because you may scare some people off who may be able to help you.
Since we've started a thread, does anyone have thoughts on what makes a locomotive sufficiently relevant to be on this page? In particular I'm wondering if it is necessary to mention 98 in the former locomotives section. Thanks! Braytoncycle (talk) 03:56, 8 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reference Style Inconsistent[edit]

Lots about steam engines - but nothing about new yard??[edit]

Would be interested to see information about this, and more on freight traffic. User:Haraldmmueller 19:17, 18 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Funny you mention this, I have the October 2023 issue of Trains magazine which ran a story on the freight operations. I'm planning some additions soon. Unfortunately most railfans are too busy obsessing over the steam engines to care about anything else... this article is also in serious need of cleanup to remove railfan trivia and improper sourcing.
