Origin of the name[edit]

The article on German language says that Strasburg is named after Strassburg, Ukraine, according to North Dakota State University. Which is it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Biggus56 (talk • contribs) 11:05, 14 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think the answer is not 'A' or 'B', but A, then B. Here's my reasoning: per this item in the "References" section ' "A Brief History Of The People And Parish of Saints Peter and Paul Church, Strasburg, ND". North Dakota State University Libraries. Archived from the original on August 4, 2012. Retrieved 25 October 2015., the town was directly named after Strassburg, Ukraine where the settlers came from, but the Ukrainian Strassburg was itself settled, upon invitation of the Russian Czar, by immigrants from Strassburg, Alsace.
