Question about the 1994 fire[edit]

Has the death of 14 firefighters been left out purposefully, or is it somewhere else that I'm just using the correct keywords to find in a search?—Preceding unsigned comment added by Varilux (talkcontribs)

This is not something I was aware of ... I didn't live in the area at that time. Nothing here gets left out purposefully. If you can find some source material, go ahead and put it in.
It's funny ... I don't recall anyone here talking about it, and you'd think people would remember it (they remember the East Coldenham School disaster well enough, and that was in 1989). Are you sure you're not thinking of that incident in Montana that summer? Daniel Case 02:10, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's been ah, nine years, and nobody has answered it properly: the event User:Varilux is referring to occurred at Storm King Mountain (Colorado). TehAnonymous (talk) 18:29, 11 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I changed "unofficial" to official with Butter Hill, although probably just "Butter Hill" would be best.
The USGS lists it as Butter Hill, and it doesn't get more official than that for the names of hills. Unofficial or "locally known as" or "known to hikers as" etc typically implies that a name isn't recognized by USGS.
