I'm guessing this is the same as Stamppot - which would be the better one to merge to? Is this a Flemish/Dutch difference? FlagSteward 20:46, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd disagree, the Belgian's are very fond of their Stoemp, and it is considered a national dish. 62.72.110.11 (talk) 14:02, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NOT in the Netherlands[edit]

Stoemp is NOT a dish in the Netherlands, it is purely Belgian/Flemish. If you'd Google stoemp you'll only find Belgian websites mentioning Stoemp and the only Dutch website I did find mentioned it was a Belgian dish. I think this proofs my point and therefore I've removed The Netherlands from this article. Though I agree you can call stoemp a stamppot, even though stamppots don't typically contain egg yolks. I'm half Dutch/Belgian by the way and have never heard of stoemp here in the Netherlands, but I guess you can't consider that proof. By the way, Belgians simply call what the Dutch call stamppot, stoemp. So there you go. ~~
