General Information[edit]

During Vietnam Marine Corps enlisted troops served in-country for 13-months vice the 12-months typical for Army personnel. A common gripe was that if injured and hospitalized, the time spent "out of the field" did not apply to the 13-month in-country requirement. Exceptions always exist and there are variations here and there but if you read and/or talk to enough folks who were there to experience the complexity of that conflict it is, I believe, easier to comprehend some of what was thrust upon the masses of common folks who "obeyed the rules."
