An original in dirty humor?[edit]

The article says:

Pornography and Sexual Representation: A Reference Guide, Volume 3 By Joseph W. Slade references Steve Rossi as an original in dirty humor.

If you follow the link, the only mention to Steve Rossi is in a paragraph about the longevity and popularity of dirty joke books. After listing "among the most popular", the paragraph goes on to say:

Others of no particular merit, some with comment, most without, of interest primarily because their pages chart the longevity of particular examples, include…

There are then 10 examples, with World's Dirtiest Joke Book by Steve Rossi and Ken Friedman right in the middle.

This hardly establishes Rossi as an "original in dirty humor"; it just establishes him as one of many who published dirty joke collections "of no particular merit".

That's not to say that Rossi isn't an originator in this realm, just that the link used falls far short of verifying it. --70.36.140.219 (talk) 19:28, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reads like a press package[edit]

The article contains statements like "Steve Rossi was a style and fashion leader of his day", and refers to various celebrities as his "dear personal friend", and is full of various non-notable references of the kind PR agencies use to remind people that their client is still relevant. In some cases, there are links to bad reviews (like http://www.reviewjournal.com/entertainment/shows/stewart-focus-helps-little-wise-keep-working-his-show?login=y) where the text implies the opposite.

It also has a link to a blog post explaining how to hire him, with the text "Steve is ready to work and is actively seeking projects."

The broken links, an attempt to embed a YouTube video into the article, etc. also imply that whoever wrote this is not a Wikipedia regular.

In short, the entire thing reads more like a publicity package than an encyclopedia article. Nearly all of the content comes from numerous edits by anonymous IP 71.158.162.74, except for a single later edit by 76.0.193.54 who "added content from Legendary Steve Rossi blog". --70.36.140.219 (talk) 19:40, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Marty Allen's Wife[edit]

This article states that Marty Allen's wife died in 1968 and that's when Rossi & Allen split. She died in 1976 - so what was the basis of the split? 67.176.7.194 (talk) 14:43, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
