Come on, this is just daft.[edit]

I'm not really much of a Wikipedia editor, I only ever make small tweaks here and there, but this page is god awful. I've noticed that a lot of questionable "facts" keep popping up on this page, and even restored when deleted. I've even googled to see if I can find any base for these statements, only to find links back to this or copies of this Wikipedia article.

While I understand the need for references on Wikipedia, I can't for the life of me figure out why we'd allow baseless, almost unbelieveable facts like Conte being a member of a band called "Waddi and the Waddettes" or a Sonic and the Secret Rings song outtake called "Midget in a Rocket" (The title doesn't even sound like a Sonic song!). It seems to me that a lot of these statements only remain because they "can't not be proven" and that's just a bad system, and one that I'm sure Wikipedia doesn't enforce. I mean, imagine what Barak Obama's page would look like if they did!

I hope I speak for everyone when I say I'd rather have a small article of truths than a big article of questionability. (Nadim Scolris (talk) 01:27, 21 September 2009 (UTC))[reply]

I concur, place a {{citationneeded}} tag on anything you think looks unusual. If we can't verify it, then remove it. -- malo (tlk) (cntrbtns) 02:02, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
While attempting to make things a little tidier, I decided to remove "Waddi & The Waddettes" from the article entirely. Linked Conte's Biography as a new reference which contains a discography where Waddi is nowhere to be found. Also added a little information about The Crazy Truth and provided references for most of the collaborators the article lists. If anyone can cite any of the other four it'd be appreciated. Why did he leave New York Dolls?[edit]

Anyone know? Was he fired, did he have creative differences with Johanses, or what?97.125.101.15 (talk) 10:55, 26 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Second Image[edit]

I just included one image in the lead info-box given the size of the article, the other may be found here: thumb|250px|right|Steve Conte in 2013. Both images were uploaded with a free use license. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 22:53, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
