Lead image[edit]

Yes, I agree. But what image should be put there? The problem with figure skating images in Commons is that none (and I'm not exaggerating) are labeled as step sequences. I put the three images currently in this article because they're mentioned: the twizzle, the steps used in step sequences, and an ice dance hold. Should we put in another twizzle, this time by a dance team, or another dance hold? Please make any suggestions, or find an appropriate image and add it, please. Removal of the step sequence requirement in single junior's skating[edit]

Proposal 211 of this year's ISU congress replaced the step sequence requirement in the junior's free skate with a choreography sequence, and I think that information belongs in this article. Can anyone find a reliable secondary source documenting this? and also where in the article should that go? Ff2maa (talk) 02:18, 13 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Ff2maa, I've been updating figure skating articles each summer (the beginning of the season) ever since I took on editing them back in 2018. I'm in the process of doing that now, by going through the ISU Communications on their webpage. I'm sure I'll find the new requirements for the free skate, and when I do, I will add it. I'm also waiting to see if the ISU publishes new Technical Panel Handbooks and/or Regulations this year, which if they do, usually comes out mid-July. I've found that one of the challenges of writing about figure skating on WP is navigating the ISU website, which isn't always user-friendly. Anyway, if the ISU publishes anything about the new regs about step sequences, it will find itself here. Kuddos, Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 02:31, 13 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
